Biography

Major Joost Rooks has been with the Ministry of Defence since 1992. First as a Conscript Military Police at 104 EskKMAR. After that he completed the Social Academy and went to the Officers Academy in 1997. After completing his specialist training, he worked for the Defence Social Service until 2002. In 2001 Joost spent six months in former Yugoslavia. Since the end of 2002 he has been working in military mental healthcare and further specialized as a System Therapist and registered EFT therapist / trainer (ICEEFT). In the past 17 years, he has also been actively engaged in group therapy (including Group Behavioral Therapy). In addition, he is a Mindfulness trainer, Aggression Regulation trainer for (v) couples and studies Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). 

Activities

Joost worked as Manager Implementation Science at the Brain Research and Innovation Centre and was mainly involved in advising on and facilitating the development and implementation of knowledge and research within the Ministry of Defence. He actively contributed to the preparation, development and implementation of projects within military mental healthcare.
