Biography
Bastiaan Bruinsma is a senior researcher at the Military Mental Healthcare department (MGGZ), where he has worked since 2020. During his PhD in neuroscience at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU), he explored the link between brain processes, behavior and cognition. His current research at the MGGZ builds on this foundation, focussing on how stress affects cognition and contributes to mental health symptoms, as well as research into treatments for insomnia and PTSD - including virtual reality-based interventions.
