Biography
Marieke Langemeyer has been working as a senior advisor at the Brain Research and Innovation Centre (BRaIC) in Utrecht since June 2019.
After obtaining her Master’s degrees in Social and Organizational Psychology (1998) and Media Psychology (1999) at Utrecht University, she began her career at the Ministry of Defence, where she held various positions in the field of psychological selection of military personnel.
Since 2009, Marieke has been affiliated with the Knowledge Centre of the MGGZ, now BRaIC, where she plays a key role as a senior advisor in the area of stress and mental health. In addition, she has been active as a confidential counsellor within the Ministry of Defence since 2010, supporting employees with issues related to social integrity. In 2018, she completed her training as a mediator.
Activities
Within BRaIC, Marieke focuses on a wide range of themes related to stress and the mental health of military personnel.
She is jointly responsible for collecting, safeguarding, and disseminating knowledge, both within Ministry of Defence and at national and international levels.
Marieke serves as a point of contact and sparring partner in the field of communication and information provision regarding psychological issues and the impact of being in a high-risk profession.
