Biography

Rik has been working as a research intern at the Brain Research and Innovation Centre (BRaIC) since January 2026. In 2023, he completed his bachelor's degree in Health and Life Sciences at VU Amsterdam, where he conducted a research internship into the effect of probiotics on the premature microbiome. In September 2023, he started his master's degree in Management, Policy Analysis & Entrepreneurship in Health & Life Sciences at VU Amsterdam. Within this master, he conducted research at Amsterdam UMC last year into the mobility behavior of Dutch adolescents. Rik is currently contributing to the BR-IDGE Research project on improving sleep in people with sleep disorders and mental health issues.
